(Harrisburg, PA) -- Governor Tom Wolf is now quarantining after testing positive for COVID-19. The governor announced yesterday that he found out he was positive for the virus from a routine test taken on Tuesday. Wolf says he is experiencing no symptoms and is following Department of Health guidelines.

(Dauphin County, PA) -- The Dauphin County Jail is reporting its cases of COVID-19. Jail officials announced yesterday that out of about 950 inmates serving time at the jail, 85 of them tested positive for the coronavirus. Those inmates are being held in an isolation wing. Officials also say about 35 employees have tested positive, but over a dozen of them are expected to go back to work on Monday.

York County Commissioners announced yesterday it will be closing public access to these government buildings during the holiday season from December 21st through January 11th. The district announced yesterday Kinkel Elementary School is going to be closed starting today. The closure comes after two employees at the school tested positive for COVID-19. The elementary school will be closed for the rest of the week and will be deep-cleaned and sanitized. Students are expected to return on Monday.

Yesterday’s announcement included 220 new COVID-19-related deaths, bringing the statewide death toll to 11,762 since the start of the pandemic. City Council is considering cutting back the number of community service aid positions from 12 to seven, tying one with each city district. Police say a man shot a woman during a domestic dispute and he locked her in a bedroom. The man had a two-hour-long standoff with police officers before he surrendered. The woman's condition is unknown, and police haven't released the suspect's charges.

However, they did pass new measures to allow for more flexibility this season for schools, meaning they can continue holding regular season games during the postseason. Also, teams that have to cut their seasons short due to the pandemic will still have the opportunity to make the postseason as the PIAA is rescinding the minimum number of games needed to make it. High school winter sports starts this Friday.

(Danville, PA) -- A Lancaster teenager is facing charges for intentionally trying to spread COVID-19. Police say after testing positive for the virus, the 16-year-old made threats then started striking, biting, spitting and coughing on staff members at the North Central Secure Building in Danville. She is being charged with harassment for the incident.
