Kavanaugh Accuser Willing To Testify In Front Of Senate

Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh appears before the Senate Judiciary Committee during his Supreme Court confirmation hearing in the Hart Senate Office Building

The woman accusing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault has reportedly reopened discussions with Senate Republicans about testifying in a hearing next week. Christine Blasey Ford would be willing to testify as long as senators offer her "terms that are fair and can ensure her safety." Republicans wanted Ford to testify on Monday, but it's unclear when or where her testimony will take place.

The New York Times received an email that Ford's lawyer, Debra Katz, had sent to lawmakers asking to discuss the terms of her client's testimony.

“As you are aware, she has been receiving death threats, which have been reported to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and she and her family have been forced out of their home,” the email said. “She wishes to testify, provided that we can agree on terms that are fair and which ensure her safety.”

Kavanaugh has rejected the assault allegation and is prepared to testify before the Judiciary Committee on Monday.
