Jake Tapper and Stephen Miller Spar Over New Book on Trump White House

Jake Tapper invited White House adviser Stephen Miller on Sunday morning's State of the Union for what ended up being a contentious interview.

Tapper accused Miller of "wasting" his viewers time after the White House adviser continuously slammed CNN's coverage of the Trump White House, instead of answering his questions.

"There's one viewer you care about right now and you're being obsequious," Tapper said, referring to President Donald Trump.

Miller had been brought on the show to talk about the claims made in Michael Wolff's new book "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House" which was published early on Friday to the president's chagrin. The book drew on several conversations the author had with multiple top-level aides, including the former White House chief strategist, Steve Bannon.

"It's tragic and unfortunate that Steve would make these grotesque comments so out of touch with reality and obviously so vindictive," Miller said during the State of the Union interview. Bannon's role, Miller said, had been "greatly exaggerated."

In a tweet posted shortly after the interview aired, President Trump did seem to confirm that he was indeed watching Tapper's interview.

Jake Tapper of Fake News CNN just got destroyed in his interview with Stephen Miller of the Trump Administration. Watch the hatred and unfairness of this CNN flunky!
