The Entire Country is Getting a Free Taco Bell Taco

Thankfully, it only took two MLB World Series games between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Houston Astros to successfully have one base stolen; all for the sake of tacos for the entire nation.

As part of the Taco Bell's sixth annual "Steal a Base, Steal a Taco" promotion, the company announced they would give a free Doritos Locos Taco to anyone in America if any Astro or Dodgers player stole a base during the World Series.

You can send a direct thank you to Astros outfielder Cameron Maybin who managed to steal second base on Wednesday in the eleventh inning.

After a single play, Maybin darted to second on a 1-0 ball by Brandon McCarthy. Everything seemed like it was going to unravel once the ball got thrown to the mat before Maybin reached second, but the ball ended up bouncing off a player’s wrist, leaving him safe and earning the country free tacos.

According to UpRoxx, Taco Bell will be honoring their deal and will give away free Doritos Locos Tacos on Nov. 1, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., at participating locations across the country, per a press release.

Extremely happy with the Astros’ victory of 7-6 and for stealing second base, Maybin took to Twitter to celebrate the good news with other Taco Bell fans.

“What's better than a win in extra innings? Free @tacobell! Proud to be America's #StealABaseStealATaco guy,” he wrote.

To which Taco Bell tweeted back: “Cameron, you’re our taco hero. 🙌”

Other former Taco Heros include New York Yankees player Jacoby Ellsbury and Chicago Cubs left fielder Ángel Pagán.
