Toddler Falls From Bus & Lays Motionless On Highway Before Man Rescues Her

EMT and volunteer firefighter Ryan Ciampoli was driving down Highway 65 in Arkansas when he witnessed the unthinkable.

Suddenly, the back door of the church van in front of him tore open, and a four-year-old girl was clinging to the handle. The child had reportedly unlatched the emergency door before slamming onto the pavement in heavy traffic.

With his dash cam rolling, Ryan signaled other drivers that something was wrong. He couldn’t believe his eyes.

He rushed over the girl and found she was bloody and unconscious. She had a broken jaw and slashes on her face. But within moments, the girl woke up and realized she needed help.

“I knelt down and started talking to her,” he said. “She put her arm up like, ‘Get me.'”

The 31-year-old EMT knew that first responders don’t typically move injured individuals, but getting the child off the busy highway was crucial.
