Dad Plays Piano In Flooded Home, But Water Makes Music Sound So Different

It’s been a few days since Hurricane Harvey hit the coast of Texas, but victims who fled their homes are now returning to assess the damage. Entire neighborhoods are under water, and the recovery will be long. Nevertheless, people have not been discouraged. In fact, they are more motivated than ever to show their resilience and strength and are helping each other out in any and every way.

One of the most poignant and emotional videos that has emerged since Harvey’s landfall comes out of Freindswood, Texas, where a man saw his flooded home.

Aric Harding briefly returned to his house to see the damage and to pick up a few essentials and belongings to take back to his family. With water coming up to his shins, he trudged from room to room.

But it was the piano that made him stop short. He sat down to play, and a friend recorded.

The already beautiful song became a haunting theme for the setting, the silence, and the sadness of the situation. The notes echo in the room because of the water, creating a scene that will surely catch many people’s attention.

Aric, like many others, is trying to stay positive. He says, “What we used to have going as a city is gone. I really think God is going to do something completely new here. I am excited to see the new beauty in the suffering.”
